Social Network with VR Presence
We developed a VR-enabled social network where users can create their family tree, build a virtual residence with a customizable garden and interior, and visit each other. It includes standard social features like newsfeed, likes, and messenger extended with AR stickers and messages to the future (“time capsule”). A specially designed cryptocurrency is used inside and outside the app and traded on a crypto exchange.

Technologies: Unity 3D, Java, Spring, Angular, Swift, and Ethereum.

Online Football Game Simulator
A multi-user, real-time football game simulator where each user controls one character – a field player, goalkeeper, coach, or football fan. The rules are based on mini football and implement all standard game situations like free kicks, penalty kicks, corner kicks, goal kicks, throw-ins, and punishments with yellow and red cards. There are several modified modes of the game and a set of superpowers like invisibility or superspeed. Based on custom communication protocol, the game works well with a latency of 700ms and allows users from different continents to play in one match. When there are no sufficient human players, AI-controlled players join the match. Fans have their own “follow the rhythm” mini-game and can affect the results of the match by giving “health” to their team. “Video operator” mode allows making video recordings with different angles and zoom.

Technologies: .NET Core, Unity 3D; server side runs on heterogeneous cloud infrastructure; client side runs on Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS.

Watchmaker’s Zoo, a VR Quest Game
This is a VR game created by DataArt as a demo project. The player starts in a room belonging to a watchmaker who disappeared recently under mysterious circumstances. The goal is to understand where he has gone, which requires investigating all the objects in the room to escape. Many of those objects are puzzles that give a clue on how to escape the room after being solved. The graphics are made in a steampunk style, and the sounds and music support an enigmatic atmosphere.

Professional Training in VR
This is a prototype of a professional training VR application created for a company that generates and transports electricity. The company staff has to service high-voltage equipment daily, so they must have proper training. Conducting training in virtual reality makes the education process realistic without exposing people to risks. The prototype recreates a 135kV transformer in VR and a simple scenario of servicing it safely.

Slot Machine in VR
The application was developed as a demo project. The idea was to attract a new audience with virtual reality effects. Functionally, it is a classic slot machine game – the user spins reels and gets combinations that are compared with win-line patterns. There is also a mini-game of binary choices where users choose between treasure chests.

Technology: Unity 3D; initially, it was built for Gear VR platform, later reworked for Oculus Quest 2.

FamiliAR, a Native iOS App with AR
FamiliAR is a native iOS application that lets users take photos and videos with a cute AR animal on their shoulders. The animals copy facial expressions to match a user’s current mood. If they detect that the user is happy, they do special actions.

The application was created as a demo project for an exhibition and was accompanied by a set of playing cards (material, not virtual) that were designed with characters of the game and DataArt brand colors.

Technology: Swift, ARKit, and iOS.

Volcano Island, a Roblox Demo Game
Responding to the recent wave of interest from many companies in building a metaverse presence, DataArt decided to develop its own presence in one of the popular metaverses. The two most popular are Decentraland and Roblox, so Roblox was chosen as a platform for the demo. All the worlds in Roblox are games, so we developed a highly engaging volcano island quest game as a demo.

The Security Challenge is created by DataArt Security Lab. It is a virtual 3D journey that is designed to educate the employees and increase awareness of security risks. It consists of two parts. The first part does not require technical skills and tests knowledge of security best practices. The second part consists of “hacking challenges” related to finding security breaches and exploiting them.
