Challenge
New Distribution Capability (NDC) is rapidly becoming a new standard for the way in which airlines communicate their offerings. Due to the greater control and flexibility it offers, many major airlines have already implemented it or are in the process of adopting it as their preferred method of listing available tickets. Despite the multitude of advantages it offers airlines, OTAs, TMCs, individual agents and perhaps even individual travelers themselves, the vast amount of data offered by the NDC can be overwhelming. Furthermore, evaluating options from different aggregators can become challenging.
PoC Description
Travel Agency Solutions has developed a tool that allows individuals to search for NDC flight content across multiple aggregators. Through a familiar interface, users can input details such as departure and return dates and locations, and receive a list of flight options that match their provided specifications.
In addition to returning NDC data, the PoC application offers the ability to choose if they would like to view data provided by Sabre, Duffel, Travelport, Mystifly, and/or AA.
By placing the dynamic NDC data into an intuitive flight search interface and enabling data from multiple providers, the search tool simplifies the process of acquiring, navigating, and comparing NDC options.
Process Flow
- User identifies the departure (and return, if applicable) location and time
- User selects which aggregators they would like to view data from
- Request is processed and NDC offerings are searched
- Interface returns list of flight options that match the parameters specified by user
- Options can be browsed and investigated more in-depth
- A fitting offering selected by the user is booked and a confirmation is generated
