FlightBridge, the only end-to-end booking and trip logistics platform for private aviation, enables aircraft operators (such as corporate flight departments and aircraft charter companies), crew members, private pilots, and travel planners to book hotels, rental cars, airline tickets, make FBO service requests, and link those details to their trips all in one easy-to-use platform.
Focused on improving the efficiency and experience of managing private aviation operations, FlightBridge serves an industry that primarily involves small to mid-sized aircraft designed for 6-12 passengers, typically used for business travel.
Challenge: Expanding to Mobile to Enhance the User Experience for Its On the Go Users
FlightBridge has a successful web platform, but aspired to expand their solution with a mobile app to cater to the diverse needs of their users, enhance operational processes, and improve the experience in using the platform on mobile devices:
- Simplified booking process: Private aircraft owners and operators either rely on their own flight departments, crew members, or staff at Fixed Base Operators (FBOs) to manage service requests, hotel bookings, car or limousine rentals, and more. The planning process for private aviation trips is complex, involving multiple steps across various channels, such as flight scheduling, keeping stakeholders informed, notifying FBOs, and arranging services. The complexity of these types of tasks required a simpler experience on mobile devices.
- Service without interruptions: The client required a mobile solution that would allow users to manage critical processes and last-minute changes under any conditions, ensuring seamless operation even when connectivity was limited.
- Tailored User Experience: The mobile app needed to be designed to offer a customized experience for different user types - crew members and owner-operators - each with specific roles, functionalities, and access levels, while also providing seamless online and offline capabilities.
Solution: End-to-End Service for a User-Friendly, Offline-Ready Mobile App
FlightBridge partnered with DataArt to develop a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android, designed to mirror the client’s existing web application while addressing their growing service needs.
The mobile app was developed using a hybrid approach, combining native functionalities with a web framework powered by React Native. This approach enabled rapid development while ensuring the app remained functional, user-friendly, and capable of operating in offline mode.
In addition to designing the app, DataArt preserved its core features, including integration with aircraft operators' scheduling software and communication with FBOs. The seamless data flow between systems eliminated the need for re-entering data, reducing complexity and simplifying the management of essential services for private aviation trips.

Outcomes
The project successfully delivered a comprehensive and user-friendly solution, significantly improving the efficiency and convenience of managing private aviation services. The newly developed application includes the following key features:

- Comprehensive Login/Registration System: Includes options for creating new accounts, onboarding for owner operators, password recovery, and Single Sign-On (SSO) integration for both mobile and web platforms.
- User-Specific Functionalities: The application supports professional crew members, owner operators, and private pilots, offering tailored features to meet their specific needs.
- Centralized Trip Management Dashboard: Allows users to effortlessly review and manage trips; crew members can access individual trip and service bookings, while owner operators have an overview of all account trips and associated services.
- Advanced Trip Management Capabilities: Empowers users to manage all aspects of their trips seamlessly, including creating, reviewing, modifying, and deleting trips, as well as handling service bookings like hotels, cars, air travel, catering, and limousine services, as well as reassigning bookings across different trips. The booking feature now supports offline mode, ensuring uninterrupted access and functionality even without an internet connection.
- Detailed FBO Notifications and Communication Records: Users can track their status histories and access comprehensive records of past communications, ensuring all parties are well-informed and aligned throughout the flight planning and execution process.
