DataArt and C&G Partners Complete New Website for The Rockefeller University
New York, NY – May 17, 2017 – DataArt, a global technology consultancy that designs, develops and supports unique software solutions, and C&G Partners, an internationally recognized design consultancy, announced today the launch of a new website for The Rockefeller University, the world's leading biomedical research university.
Designed by C&G Partners and developed by DataArt, the new website is a key component of Rockefeller’s strategic communications program, designed to provide visual and messaging consistency for users across all communication channels. It consolidates information from numerous university laboratories and subdivisions, serving as a unified online portal for a number of previously disjointed websites, and runs on a single comprehensive Content Management System (CMS).
C&G Partners led the user interface design and front-end development for the new website.
"We were tasked with a redesign that would highlight the unique strengths of this remarkable institution," says Maya Kopytman, Partner at C&G. "To capture Rockefeller's innovation in bioscience, the website featured abstracted scientific imagery from their actual labs, juxtaposed with engaging in-situ portraits to tell the stories of the individual students and faculty who are at the heart of the university. We were blessed with a client who trusted our bold visual approach, creating wider exposure for their incredible scientific breakthroughs.”
DataArt developed multiple page layouts, improved search functionality, reorganized and migrated hundreds of webpages, and integrated a ‘heads of laboratories’ section with external custom-built software. The streamlined structure and new CMS offer visitors a consistent user experience and an insightful look at Rockefeller, while answering to the highest standards of scalability and performance.
"We’re proud to have contributed to a seamless online user experience for The Rockefeller University researchers, donors, media, and the wider biomedical research community," says Egor Kobelev, VP of Engineering, Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice at DataArt. “We look forward to a continued partnership with the university and C&G Partners.”
Future development will involve migrating additional subsections into the new CMS, creating additional layouts to support new page and content structures, and integration with a number of public sites and internal Rockefeller University applications.
