Microsoft, Motorola Enter Smart Phone Fight
By Shealagh Whittle
Medill Reports, written and produced by graduate journalism students at Northwestern University’s Medill school, discusses the battle of smart phones, citing DataArt’s expert opinion on the future of a recently introduced MS Windows Phone 7.
"Microsoft did a lot of very unlikely things that they never did before, they actually positioned this product really well in the market," said Denis Margolin, vice president of mobile solutions at DataArt, a software development company for mobile devices. "I do believe that it will have a lot of big success."
As smart phone technology develops and handsets become capable of being used as Starbucks credit cards, airline boarding passes and television remote controls, industry experts say that smart phone technology represents the new frontier in software development.
