Client

The client is a UK-based cloud payments platform, providing financial services to its customers, mainly online stores. As the client is preparing to enter the new markets, they need more integrations.

Challenge

The client engaged DataArt to help them achieve steady expansive growth, provide support for more payment systems and set up important payment integrations.

Solution

DataArt’s team works as part of the client’s IT team, helping them with the development of their sub-products, namely the payment gateway component.

Apart from fine-tuning of the payment gateway, DataArt developed new features alongside the client’s IT team, the need for which arose as a result of the rapid expansion of the client's business.

The new features DataArt helped to develop mostly fell under two categories: public-facing and internal.

Public-facing features:

  • Previously, it was only possible to make payments to legal entities. Now this feature is available to individuals as well;
  • The ability to modify the protocol data according to different payment processors’ requirements;
  • The development of the public-facing API.

Internal features:

  • Development of new services to deploy data in other formats;
  • Optimization of services for data storage, which allowed for faster requests processing and a more stable system;
  • Data processing.

How It Was Done

DataArt provided Team Augmentation services to the client, helping the in-house IT team with all the stages of payment processing and its different functionality, such as storing credit card data, protocol support, etc.

As the project progressed, DataArt’s team became actively involved in large-scale tasks, such as migration of the current data warehouse to a new back-end component. The back-end component was written by the client’s team and used by different lines of business. Since the entire service architecture was built on AWS, the DataArt’s team was able to apply its extensive cloud expertise. Over time, DataArt’s team mastered the client’s platform and accumulated the necessary knowledge to help the client to further scale its business.
