Challenge

The client was looking for a reliable vendor for a deep re-platforming of its e-commerce product. The primary challenge was to find a solution that could support the client’s unique business processes while leveraging the out of the box capabilities of e-commerce platforms currently available on a market. The other challenge was to improve the assortment management process, which was one of the main roadblocks to revenue growth. The client was keen on automating its existing business processes.

Solution Highlights

DataArt analyzed BigCommerce and Commercetools as candidates for the e-commerce platform core. BigCommerce was selected because of its user-friendly admin panel and features, which are available through an internal BC marketplace. A complex order fulfillment process was implemented with a custom Zendesk application, allowing customer support to perform their daily tasks in a unified working environment.

We introduced a unique catalog management approach, where assortment management was implemented in Contentful and everything related to price management was handled by BigCommerce.
