DataArt Joins Telecom Infra Project (TIP) to Contribute to Next-Generation Telecom Infrastructure
New York, NY – June 20, 2017 – DataArt, the global technology consultancy that designs, develops and supports unique software solutions, today announced that it has joined the Telecom Infra Project (TIP), an initiative that aims to reimagine the traditional approach to building and deploying telecom network infrastructure.
Co-founded in 2016 by Facebook, Intel, Nokia, SK Telecom, and Deutsche Telekom, and driven by members, including operators, infrastructure providers, and system integrators, TIP is comprised of three strategic network areas - Access, Backhaul and Core & Management. Each network is made up of project groups that address some of the most pressing industry needs, such as connecting the unconnected or underserved populations, or augmenting the development of powerful new technologies, like 5G, that will pave the way for better connectivity and richer services. Specifications and designs are contributed to TIP through its project groups.
DataArt joined the Greenfield Telecom Networks project group within the Core & Management network, сo-chaired by Subbu Subramanian of Facebook and Rainer Schatzmayr of Deutsche Telekom. The objective of the group is to provide solutions for managing the constantly increasing traffic volumes in networks and for expanding the economically feasible reach of networks. This includes developing solutions for efficient packet forwarding, traffic management and operational frameworks in a continuously changing infrastructure.
DataArt’s TIP team focuses on Network Function Virtualization and Software Defined Networking (NFV/SDN).
“We are excited to join the Greenfield Telecom Networks project group within the Telecom Infra Project, and look forward to developing solutions for the challenges associated with the exploding traffic levels operators need to handle in Telecom Networks,” said Michael Lazar, VP Telecom, DataArt.
