Virtual Medical Assistant
In IoT Design, Anton Dolgikh, Head of AI in the Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice at DataArt, discusses the role of artificial intelligence in medical diagnoses.
“In 2014, the global population exceeded the six billion mark. Everyone needs medical support to varying degrees. There has long been a general awareness that preventive measures cost significantly less than follow-up treatments. According to a study by the Californian Milken Institute, ‘more than 109 million Americans have at least one of the seven diseases [cancer, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart disease, lung disease, and mental illness]’ that cost the U.S. household $1.3 trillion annually in medical care. Such figures show that new ways must be found to reduce healthcare costs. To use artificial intelligence for this seems only logical.”
