VP of Enterprise Sales, Travel & Hospitality Practice

Position Overview

DataArt is looking for an experienced VP of Business Development to lead targeted sales efforts and develop relationships with new mid-to-large enterprise-level clients across multiple sectors but with a specific focus in the Travel and Hospitality industries, including airlines, OTAs, distribution, hospitality, and other subsectors. The candidate must be able to communicate DataArt’s unique capabilities to deliver complex and customized software solutions. Core responsibilities include creating, managing, developing, and winning a portfolio of midsize and enterprise-level client engagements with a focus on Travel and Hospitality.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with mid-to-large enterprise level clients, with a remit across industries and a focus on the travel and hospitality sector
  • Plan, implement, and manage sales activities and pipelines to meet annual revenue targets and business goals
  • Originate and nurture business relationships resulting in engagement opportunities
  • Scope projects, shape engagements, and help define business solutions that best satisfy the clients’ needs and achieve their desired business outcomes
  • Present DataArt’s unique value proposition to the top level executives of clients
  • Plan resources, organize and mobilize teams (including solution design, UX, technical, engagement management and delivery teams) throughout the whole sales cycle
  • Coordinate with DataArt’s Travel practice, ensuring adequate industry coverage and opportunity focus
  • Collaborate with DataArt’s engagement managers to ensure maximum client satisfaction and optimized revenue for DataArt
  • Understand and assist in managing and mitigating key risks through tactical plans and actions
  • Evangelize DataArt’s unique capabilities to deliver complex, leading edge, industry-specific custom software solutions through presentations and discussions, participation at events, speaking engagements, and tradeshows

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience selling professional IT or software services
  • Experience selling technology consultations and services
  • A demonstrable history of meeting and exceeding expectations (consistent top 20% performance)
  • Excellent understanding of the industry, including key players, strategies, client structures, business models, sub-verticals, needs, challenges, and key trends
  • A high level of effectiveness in shortening the traditional enterprise sales cycle
  • Experience and comfortable communicating with potential client firms at all management levels, from “C” level executives to product management to IT professionals
  • A team player who is also highly self-reliant (self-managed) and self-motivated
  • Must have a strong understanding of the software systems and data that are widely used in the industry
  • Knowledge of project management processes including scope definition, project plans, resource plans, budgets, and milestone identification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to think, write, and present in a logical, structured, and polished manner
  • Possess a demonstrable strategic, creative, and analytical sales approach with a focus on initiating and building client relationships

Additional Competencies

  • Experience working with multinational distributed teams
  • Understanding of modern IT technologies and tools
