Software Architect

Position Overview

DataArt’s client is a premier fixed income analytics provider serving top fixed income money managers in the U.S., top-tier broker dealers, sales, trading and research professionals, institutional portfolio managers, investment advisors, insurance companies, banks, and hedge funds.

We are looking for a Software Architect with creative ideas, strong personal initiative, and work ethic to solve a variety of programming problems involved in implementing Web Services and back end integration. Good communication skills and teamwork are essential.



  • Design and build new web services (REST) that deliver fixed income analytics and data
  • Support and extend existing systems with new functionality
  • Improve and optimize existing infrastructure
  • Develops the code based on the high-level and low-level designs
  • Execute unit testing
  • Peer review of the code

Required Skills and Experience

  • Hands-on development experience with one of the following languages: Java, Python or C++
  • 2+ years of experience with Java Services (REST, JAX-RS)
  • 4+ years of experience developing Java-based web applications
  • Outstanding programming skills in server-side Java
  • Experience in API design, advanced proxies, analytics, and developer portals
  • Must be comfortable working in a Linux environment
  • Knowledge of installation and configuration, platform operations, troubleshooting, and support of API based products
  • API product experience like Apigee, WSO2, Mulesoft
  • API Security: API Key Validation, authentication, authorization and identification
  • Understanding of middleware and integration technologies
  • Skills in Scrum-based delivery

Nice to have

  • Experience with legacy Unix systems (Shell, Perl, etc.) and C programming skills
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, and other API related technologies
  • Experience developing large software applications
  • Working experience with fixed-income financial systems
  • Experience working using Agile methodologies
