Technical Support Engineer

Position Overview

This London-based client is one of the world's oldest stock exchanges. DataArt works with the department that manages their information technology for capital markets (stock exchanges, fixed income, and derivatives).

We are designing and building new streaming and distribution capabilities and modernizing the front-end capabilities to create new data-driven applications for clients in capital markets.

ABOUT DATAART

Responsibilities

  • Processing requests from the team on the client-side through the ticket system, email, and IM.
  • Investigating logs
  • Root cause analysis
  • Resolution of configuration issues
  • Maintenance of support documentation

Required Skills and Experience

  • Basic knowledge of Java/Scala, JS
  • Experience administering server systems (Linux, Windows Server)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks
  • Understanding of the HTTP/HTTPS protocols
  • Experience configuring web services
  • Experience administering database servers (Oracle, AWS S3)
  • Experience configuring and administering cloud services (Amazon AWS)
  • Knowledge of Jenkins
  • The ability to solve technical problems on the server/network equipment/DB/service/etc. side
  • Readiness to work according to a schedule (5 AM – 11 AM or 9 PM – 3 AM)
  • Good spoken English

Nice to have

  • Experience working for a hosting provider or in a technical support service for English-speaking customers will be a huge plus
  • Broad knowledge of the IT field
  • Communicability
  • The ability to work in a team
