Middle Database Developer, Global Music Company

Position Overview

Our client is a global music and entertainment industry conglomerate headquartered in the US with offices in over 40 countries.

Currently, the company plans to expand the team and run the following projects: processing tools for new artists and tracks, license and rights management, marketing, and A/R activity.

Projects and applications will be built around the concept of a unified data storage system. This will help develop products that best fit business goals.

Note that we hire specialists not to the project, but to the company. If the project is over, or you become uncomfortable in it, you can discuss a transition to another project.


Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of development experience in one or few RDBMS: MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
  • 3+ years of development experience with DWH and ETL
  • Strong knowledge of DWH/ETL fundamentals and concepts
  • Knowledge of database development best practices
  • Hands-on experience with implementing databases
  • Experience designing schemas of high-load relational database management systems (RDBMS) and data warehouses (DWH)
  • Solid development and proven experience working with SQL
  • Understanding of ETL design, implementation, and maintenance
  • Experience in SQL query optimization
  • Experience with modern cloud solutions, especially with any cloud data warehouses: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure SQL Data Warehouse
  • Experience working with Git
  • Good spoken English

Nice to have

  • Experience with PostgreSQL
  • Snowflake experience
  • Knowledge of at least one of the programming languages: JavaScript, Python, Java, Scala
  • Hands-on experience with AWS
  • Solid communicational skills
  • Experience working with foreign clients
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies
