Senior Data Engineer, Asset Management Solutions

Position Overview

DataArt is assembling a project team of about 10-12 specialists for the logical continuation to the discovery and solution design phases we recently completed for one of Europe's leading alternative asset management firms.

DataArt specialists were engaged to help build a new cloud-based data management and analytics platform. The main technologies are — Azure Data Platform (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure Functions); Python/Scala. DataArt fully owns the stack and architecture ensuring the use of the latest best practices.

This project will allow you to work with top-notch data management technologies and architecture approaches.


Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience (databases, data management platforms, etc.); 1+ year of experience working with data in Cloud, MS Azure preferably
  • Experience working with Azure Data Platform (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, Azure Functions)
  • SQL expertise: design, development and maintenance of complex SQL queries and procedures
  • Experience building periodic and micro-batch ETL processes – deployment and maintenance (design experience is a plus)
  • Excellent analytical skills to control data quality, gap or inconsistency identification
  • Basic understanding of data modelling approaches (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault, Anchor, Data Lake), design patterns, standard data loading and processing approaches
  • Experience with Git
  • Fluent English

Nice to have

  • Experience in Data Management platforms architecture design based on business requirements, real data volume and structure, available infrastructure and security requirements.
  • Python, Scala, Spark, or general understanding of Big Data.
  • Experience with Concurrent computing
  • Experience maintaining of BI Solutions (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Experience designing data schemas and models
