Business Analyst, Banking App

Position Overview

DataArt is currently engaged in the process of modernizing the IT-structure of a commercial bank whose assets are worth roughly \$2 billion. The number of services the bank provides to their clients is constantly growing, and so does the number of clients (several million as of today). This fact drives the bank to expand the features of their IT systems, which is done by using cutting-edge technologies. DataArt’s specialists are currently helping the company to implement this.

Our specialists develop, test, and support client applications and parts of the bank’s internal system. They all must work fast and under high load while being flexible enough to also introduce new features. The applications we’re creating help the clients with their financial history and analyze financial flows. DataArt is also integrating applications with payment systems and other external services.



  • Developing business rules in an IBM ODM (business rule development and management system) environment
  • Communication with internal customers to identify business needs
  • Analysis of implemented business rules
  • Making changes and developing working applications
  • Writing technical documentation and tasks
  • Development of utilities for internal needs

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a business analyst
  • Development experience in one of the OOP languages (Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in facilitating effective interactions between the project team and the customer
  • Experience working with clients: establishing business contacts, managing expectations, getting feedback, discussing the client needs, and reporting
  • Experience in configuring applications, workflows, processes, and metrics to support Agile/Scrum, using the latest tools
  • Understanding the end-to-end project context – BRD to deployment/releases using Agile
  • Good collaboration skills are a must
  • Ability to work with uncertainty and have the ability to get the required information and to be able to transfer it into a usable state that will be clear for the development team
  • Goal and values-oriented rather than process and rules-oriented
  • Perseverance and the ability to get things done

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Java
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Experience working in product based IT companies
  • Experience in sales and preparing commercial proposals
  • Experience managing a group of projects and tracking the status of implementation
