DataArt Develops GeoSweep, “The Unlottery” Gaming App for Roboreus Ltd.December 02, 2010 ![]() December 2, 2010 – LONDON & NEW YORK- DataArt, a high-end software development company with headquarters in New York and R&D centers in Eastern Europe, today announced that it has completed development of GeoSweep.com online game for London-based Roboreus Ltd. GeoSweep is Britain’s new national prize game that is based on locations rather than numbers, and resembles a mix of a lottery with Monopoly and Foursquare. The game uses a Google Map of the UK as a game-board, allowing its players to select their favorite locations, known as Geos, for a chance to win £1m every day. DataArt worked with Roboreus in-house development team to create a visually appealing, fast, secure, and robust application, which has become an online alternative to the UK National lottery. In GeoSweep, the players can buy their favorite British locations for as little as 10p and determine the luck of their Geos by checking its status online. To develop the game, DataArt used complex mathematical algorithms to slice UK territory into squares and drew custom layers over integrated GoogleMap API, effectively handling more than 50 million Geos. “DataArt is a company we can rely on to go the extra mile to help make a project successful,” said Matt Young, CTO of Roboreus. “We needed to build the site from scratch in a very short timescale at the same time as building up our internal development team. DataArt worked in close and constructive collaboration with our growing tech team to help us deliver a top notch product exactly on schedule.” Geowseep.com has been integrated with online social networks and mail servers, including Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo! and is supported by IE 6-8, Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. Geosweep.com was launched on 10/10/10 for 10p Geos. The rules are explained here. About DataArt: About Roboreus: Media Contacts: James Oakes |
