DataArt's CFO, Svetlana Janson, recently attended a roundtable held by the St. Petersburg Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia and the Center for Business Ethics and Corporate Governance. At the meeting was the newly appointed director of NASDAQ operations in Russia and CIS, Paulina McGroarty. Svetlana wanted to find out more about the prospects of businesses going public and also about NASDAQ plans to establish long-term relations with Russia.
"Due to Russia's strong and steady growth over the past few years, the healthy fiscal situation due to high oil prices, and the government's stated support for reform in many sectors of the economy, NASDAQ officials believe that the time is approaching for companies to think about expanding operations and incurring debt," roundtable founders said.
The roundtable was inspired by NASDAQ starting its expansion into Russia and showing an interest for Russian companies to become public.
