DataArt CEO Judges Columbia University Business Plan Competition

April 20, 2006
Michael Zaitsev, CEO of DataArt, was on the panel of judges at the annual A. Lorne Weil Outrageous Business Plan Competition at Columbia University. The competition encourages Columbia students to explore creative entrepreneurial ideas that are sufficiently ambitious in scope and scale to be considered "outrageous." Students explore these ideas while learning firsthand what goes into the development and presentation of a solid business proposal.

Each of the four panels evaluated 10 business plans on profitability, competitive insulation, risk identification and whether it should be recommended for funding by Lang Fund. The panel judged by Zaitsev was moderated by Ira Weiss, Professor of Accounting and Business Strategy at Columbia University, and included venture capitalists, angel investors and experienced entrepreneurs. "I was really impressed with the range and ambitions of presented ideas," said Zaitsev. "It's great to see that the entrepreneurial spirit thrives among MBA candidates, which is good news for DataArt as we continue to grow our business development team in New York."
