DataArt's New Office.

DataArt is pleased to announce that the preliminary agreement has been signed for its new office. The new office will be located on Bolshoi Samsonievski Ave and have 1,500 sq. meters of floor space. The move is scheduled for the beginning of summer. The following picture will give you a better idea of how comfortable and convenient the new location will be.

DataArt Saturday club gets creative.

At the latest meeting of DataArt's Saturday club, participants discussed the questions of creativity within the company and techniques for organising the creative thinking process. Andy Green's bestseller 'Creativity in PR' served as a stimulus for the discussion, which broached the subjects of how to maximise creativity and techniques for presenting creative ideas to partners and customers. Many participants were pleasantly surprised to find that creativity, rather having a purely negative effect in communication with the customer, can in fact inject a charge of positive energy into the process and help to form a closer and more effective working relationship.

DataArt picks up the gauntlet.

The DataArt team today accepted an invitation from Activesport.info to take part in a karting tournament between IT companies, and became the competition's main information sponsor. Jane Kurts gave the following press release: "We already took part in a karting tournament back in 2002, when the DataArt team took first place. When we received the invitation to take part in a competition for the Activesport.info cup, we accepted without hesitation. We really want a repeat of our previous victory. We know that we always make a good job of everything we do, so hopefully this will be yet another opportunity to demonstrate that capability, and to have fun while we're at it! We would like to thank the organisers for coming up with the idea, and for their work in setting up the tournament.

DataArt team returns from New York.

Today a team of leading programmers and account managers returned from their business trip to the headquarters of a DataArt client - a major New York-based asset management firm. DataArt has developed and implemented a major financial system especially for this firm. The system is based on the business workflow of the client and is already in use. In addition to the regular field support of DataArt software products in use, the following important subjects were discussed:

Architectural design for the further development of the corporate financial system
Integration of the existing financial system with new third-party software products which are planned to be used by the client
Feedback from the first-end users of the system (including the client's CEO)
Launch of the Risk Management System
Implementation of end-of-day calculations

DataArt attended the annual gala dinner of the American Chamber of Commerce in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The meeting featured a constellation of top Russian and foreign officials, including St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Chairman Vadim Tulpanov, St. Petersburg Vice Governor Mikhail Oseyevsky, Leningrad Oblast Legislative Assembly Chairman Kirill Polyakov, U.S. Consul General Morris Hughes, and Consul General of Canada Anna Byolik. In his keynote address, Mr. Tulpanov stressed the importance of attracting foreign investments to the region, and promised that the city authorities would speed up the review process of investment proposals with a target of no more than 14 days.

AmCham St. Petersburg Executive Director Elena Berezantseva's speech focused on the accomplishments of the Chamber. Not only was 2003 a landmark year for the city, she said, it was also a year of unprecedented growth for AmCham St. Petersburg Chapter, which posted a remarkable 19% increase in membership. Many member companies enjoyed substantial success in 2003: new products launched, mergers completed, new initiatives announced and donations made to charity.
