DataArt held its first pool tournament.

April 30, 2004
On April 30 DataArt held its first pool tournament, with two leagues playing a number of friendly matches. Danil Chertok and Artem Zacharov, winners of the first league, refused to play aginst each other since they are working together on the same project - an indication of just how strong DataArt team spirit is! Congratulations to both of them on their victory, and also to Anton Bagrov, who took a clear victory in the second league. We hope this competition will mark the beginning of a new corporate event - pool Thursday.

DataArt continues its educational program.

April 27, 2004
The first of DataArt’s Project Management Practices seminars was held today. These seminars describe the process of project management in DataArt, beginning with the basic rules and ending with possible modifications that can be made to the process for even greater Client satisfaction. The target audience of these seminars is the Project Managers and Coordinators, but, in line with DataArt’s policy of maximum possible transparency, all company employees are free to participate.

The seminars aroused heated discussion among participants - such exchanges have always helped DataArt to optimize processes and deal with them more efficiently.

Most participants in the conference were IT managers and executives from small and mid-size companies considering future offshoring partnerships. Issues covered included political climate, the rising popularity of offshoring, best practices for US-based business and problems that are to be expected. It was noted that most IT outsourcing practices still apply to offshoring, and that particular attention should be paid to communication.
