Zinglet
Client case overview: Zinglet is a dynamic enterprise messaging system that enables corporate brand control and uniformity for intra and extra-enterprise e-mails. Zinglet, which conforms corporate e-mail branding across all major enterprise messaging platforms, allows the enterprise to:
- Tailor messages to custom, database-driven audiences on the fly
- Achieve real-time messaging with speed-to-market competitive advantages
- Perform robust data analytics for rapid ROI reporting
- Harvest aggregated data to deliver business intelligence about user preferences/habits
- Leverage templated, repeatable features for fast, easy enterprise-wide replication
Zinglet was looking for a reliable software development organization to help it build its e-mail marketing software suite. Fast time-to-market was critical, as the company planned an aggressive marketing effort. At the same time, the software had to be developed to the highest quality and reliability standards, since it was intended to process corporate e-mail correspondence, where service errors or delays are not acceptable.
DataArt was selected to take over this software project in September 2001.

| DataArt developed the complete software system for Zinglet. Development was carried out in phases. Initially, the Customer provided a high-level vision of the product. The first phase was to elaborate the detailed functional requirements for the product. Then a series of technologies were put to test to determine the best way to develop the software. Final selection was done through a number of prototypes and performance benchmarking sessions. Custom module for IIS SMTP Server was selected, supported by MS SQL Server on a Windows 2000 platform. Once that decision was made, the main development phase was started. Through the development process, as major modules were completed, thorough testing cycles were run.
As a result of DataArt's work, Zinglet was able to get a complex, highly customizable software system ready within 2 months. Zinglet continues to partner with DataArt for consulting and additional software work.
Technologies: MS IIS SMTP Server, C++, MS SQL Server 2000, ASP, MTS
