Hedge Fund & Investment Technology Magazine dedicates a feature to the growing phenomenon of IT outsourcing in the financial industry. The article collects opinions of buy side executive on critical issues not to be overlooked when approaching the subject, such as due diligence of potential outsourcing providers, their flexibility, expertise and prior experience. The story quotes one of DataArt clients as saying: "One thing that all IT managers at hedge funds should be cognisant of is the fact that there are very few people out there with the expertise to build customized financial software tools". The article goes on to mention DataArt as one of such companies, and quotes Alexei Miller, the company's EVP, who observes that "there is an increase in the numbers of asset managers looking to proactively manage their outsurced operations," and there are "more targeted, contained outsourcing arrangements".

Alexei Miller, DataArt Executive Vice President, offers expert commentary for the cover story on Microsoft and India-based Satyam joining forces in China. Miller is quoted as saying: "It's a big win for Satyam to lock Microsoft into certain types of relationships. The fact that Satyam was able to put a foot into a certain area of the Chinese market is a huge win." He also comments on the talks of Lockheed Martin Corp. possibly buying Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC).

Women in Technology, the premier organization contributing to the success of professional women in the technology community, published its annual 2005 WIT Technology Journal which inlcuded a white paper by Eugene Goland entitled "Offshore Outsourcing Methodology for Small- and Mid-Size Companies". The white paper is devoted to the issues of selecting the right vendor, managing the outsourced project and minimizing the risks. The paper also offers best practices in SME software outsourcing.
