DataArt Men's Volleyball Team Joined by Two Ladies
December 13, 2005Marina Shvetz and Marina Novikova, DataArt software developers, joined DataArt volleyball team, so watch out, Gentlemen! The ladies train along with men several times a week. And even though playing volleyball isn't exactly easy, two Marinas cope splendindly with the task of keeping up, and have long become men's rivals. The all-male team, celebrating its third year anniversary, is happy to become "deluted" by a female touch.
"We don't really play to compete; we play because it's great fun, and most importantly, we know that our team consists of real friends", said Novikova.
DataArt Veronica Atagunova Weds in St. Petersburg
November 20, 2005On November 18, Veronica Atagunova, a new software developer at DataArt, joined the ranks of married company employees. The ceremony took place at the Admiralty avenue, and after that the newly weds walked along the Nevsky Avenue towards the granite embankments the Neva River to take traditional photographs on the background of the Hermitage and the Palace square. The quiet part of the evening went off in the restaurant in the close family circle.
Atagunova has recently started her successful career at DataArt – after she finished her studies at St. Petersburg State University and successfully passed her final examinations in the faculty of (for) applied mathematics and the management process. The future husband and wife met, when they were passing their entrance examinations at St. Petersburg State University. Veronica, one of the best students at university, confessed, that exactly her future husband, Andrey Zatchin helped her with studies most of all. Andrey has recently successfully passed the examinations in post-graduate course and keeps on studying at the university.
DataArt Specialists Attend American Chamber of Commerce IT Committee Meeting
October 25, 2005DataArt executives, Yury Kabrits and Alexander Makeyenkov, attended a monthly meeting of the IT Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Russia. A presentation by the New Product Research manager from Quest Software discussed practical approaches to IT product management, and was followed by a lengthy discussion. Kabrits and Makeyenkov shared their views and met several like-minded IT executives. DataArt is a member of the St. Petersburg chapter of AmCham and its executives are regular attendees of the Chamber's events.
DataArt Head of Project Management Weds in St. Petersburg
October 19, 2005Dmitry Bagrov, Head of Project Management at DataArt, married a long-time girlfriend Margarita Gorlanova on October, 19, 2005. The ceremony took place at the St. Petersburg Wedding Palace on the English embankment.
The couple was stunning as they emerged from the white limo, followed by friends and colleagues, including guests from Great Britain. After a Hollywood-like ceremony, the couple and the entourage went for an evening of celebration at the "Moscow" restaurant on the Neva River.
The bride is a certified tourist guide and has assisted DataArt on numerous occasions by organizing exclusive tours of the city for DataArt clients and guests. The groom has been with DataArt since the company's inception, and is considered the "European face" of the company, as he leads all U.K. based projects.
"It was great to see Dmitry during an emotional peak of his life", said a British friend and colleague, Peter Atalla. Says Bagrov: "I was told by my married friends that if the wedding takes place at the right time with the right person, then I won't feel the difference between a single and a married status. Well, I think I've done everything right – it feels great".

September 18, 2005When company HR is human, the "resources" are happy and the results are spectacular. That's right. The Sunday Morning spectacle at DataArt Hub saw 30 kids of the company's employees bubble with happiness and excitement. And no wonder - the future of DataArt was treated to a "Cheburashka" puppet show by the local theater group, followed by cartoons and accompanied by home baked sweets. To put the icing on the cake - the youngsters got to play with the actors after the show. Joy is one of the perks that come with working for DataArt.
