Boot Camp Is No Obstacle for DataArt
May 20, 2005DataArt's team is getting stronger and tougher. The company's EVP, Alexei Miller, has successfully completed a two-week boot camp in New York's Central Park. The original Navy Seal Physical Training course is famous among executives and fitness junkies alike. "A unique fitness boot camp based upon the principles of Discipline, Motivation and Team Camaraderie" means getting up at 4 AM for a daily two-hour non-stop work-out, while a Navy Seal Jack Walston challenges you at the top of his lungs. Forget weight lifting in a clean gym - this excercise is real - the routine includes crawling in the sand; hundreds of pushups and squats; running six miles with a 20 lbs sand back on your shoulders and carrying a friend for a mile. Rain or snow, the class is on. Naturally, one wonders why someone would do such a thing. Miller says, "To be in a good shape, one needs to challenge himself beyond occasional trips to a gym, and Jack's course is the ultimate challenge. Plus, you won't believe the kind of people you meet while crawling in the mud". He plans to take another course in July and recommends it to his friends and colleagues
