April 22, 2005

DataArt hosted the second annual Global Leadership Forum with participation of the leading U.S. outsourcing experts. Representatives of Unisys, Outsourcing Institute and Media First shared their views on the latest trends in global sourcing.

The highlights of the event were presentations by Oliver Houck of Outsourcing Institute on e-Sourcing Capability Model for Service Providers (eSCM-SP) and Michael Zavileysky, COO of DataArt on client demands from outsourcing vendors. Mr. Houck reviewed existing models and standards of certification, and pointed that eSCM addresses the entire sourcing process and provides a new method to appraise capabilities and guidance for improvement in IT-enabled sourcing services. Additionally, Judy Arteche-Carr, Executive Director of Global Outsourcing and Infrastructure Services at Unisys reviewed best practices in BPO/BPT while Loretta Prencipe, Director of Media First and a member of DataArt's advisory board, noted the growing interest to Russian outsourcing in the Western media. Julia Zavyleyskaya announced the launch of RusWIT, the Russian chapter of WorldWIT.org.

"Russian outsourcing should not repeat the path of India" stated Michael Zavileysky, DataArt's COO. "Russian providers should continue on their own path: they are ideal for solving complex problems and it has always been our strong selling point."

Strategic Technologies, Inc. signs DataArt as an outsourcing provider

April 12, 2005

DataArt has announced that it was selected by Strategic Technologies, Inc., a leading integrator of business and technology, to provide software development services.

With recently opened offices in Jacksonville, DataArt's Russian team will serve as an extension of Strategic Technologies' own business analysis and development team, working on a J2EE-based equipment management system for a major manufacturing company here.

"Our expansion to the Sunshine state was a calculated decision", says Eugene Goland, President of DataArt. "There are many technology intensive businesses here which could benefit from offshore outsourcing, and I am pleased that our first regional client is Strategic Technologies, a leader in business technology integration".

"Strategic Technologies' solutions require expertise of top engineers and programmers, and we found a great talent pool at DataArt to complement our own", said Scott McIntyre, engagement manager within Strategic Technologies' Information Management practice area. "We liked the fact that DataArt's R&D team in St. Petersburg, Russia now has a local management team near St. Petersburg, Florida". This 'virtual team' approach, where team members work seamlessly from multiple locations using state-of-the-art communication tools, proved to be highly effective for technology firms in the past.

This is the first Florida venture for New York –based DataArt, which has recently opened offices in Jacksonville.
