DataArt's President completes executive MBA at R.H. Smith
February 25, 2005DataArt's President Eugene Goland has successfully completed an Executive MBA program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, an internationally recognized leader in management education and research for the digital economy.
The University of Maryland's Smith Executive MBA (EMBA) is an innovative, 18-month program geared specifically to mid-to-senior level executives. Mastery classes in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Leadership, Negotiation and Project Management lead to the Action Learning Project. Goland’s team worked closely with offshore outsourcing teams from the SMB segment to derive the best practices from past experiences and to re-examine the existing outsourcing strategy.
DataArt's developer completes Intel's Workshop
February 24, 2005DataArt's Sergey Tikhomirov attended Intel’s exclusive Winter Development School.
Tikhomirov, a four-time Russian Mathematics Olympics champion, was chosen to participate in the parallel programming workshop in Nijniy Novgorod as one of the best Russian developers.
Parallel programming is used in multiple and high-accuracy calculations (airplanes construction, molecular and explosive force computations) and in enterprise multiple calculations (cargo transportation control systems and optimal route calculations).
"These are the technologies of the future. OpenMP, MPI and DVM provide a dynamic balance and allow to solve an expanded range of problems. OpenTS technology is an excellent tool for scientific research and will be an invaluable asset once it’s commercially released", said Sergey Tikhomirov.
Java Technology Evangelist Simon Ritter attends St. Petersburg JUG
February 21, 2005DataArt's Yakov Sirotkin has staged the most successful meeting of the Java User Group in St. Petersburg to date: a recent event was attended by Java Technology Evangelist Simon Ritter.
In his presentation "The Roar Of The Tiger", Sun Microsystem's Ritter discussed new features and updates of Java 5, including design themes, language changes, major new features, generics and compatibility.
Russia's only St. Petersburg JUG is one of the Top 25 JUGs in the world. Besides Java expertise, members of the group are known for their hospitality: after the presentation, they treated Ritter to Russian beer in a nearby pub. Ritter's own impressions can be found on his blog.
Systematic approach to "Testing process"

Inaugural OOBP.org Teleconference is a success
February 08, 2005The first OOBP.org teleconference "Economics of Offshore Outsourcing", sponsored by DataArt, was attended by over 30 executives and proved to be a worthy undertaking.
Three distinguished speakers – Stuart Robbins of CIO Collective, Alexei Miller of DataArt and Todd Ruback, an attorney – shared their expertise on successful strategies for managing a globalized workforce and evaluating offshore outsourcing providers and discussed cost considerations and the economic impact of outsourcing.
