Miller's Interview Reveals DataArt's attraction for Russian Talent

November 10, 2004
Alexei Miller, DataArt's director of Project management, was quoted by the Securities Industries News on key Russian outsourcing issues. In her article "Tech Offshoring Off the Beaten Path," Maria Trombly covers offshoring industry newcomers and the benefits and disadvantages of several major offshoring industry zones including China, Russia, and South Africa.

While talking about outsourcing to Russia, Alexei Miller described DataArt's approach to human resource management and head-hunting while searching for a qualified work force within the offshore zone. Many highly qualified Russian programmers went to the US to work for large IT corporations. So the opportunity of being hired by a secure, comfortable and reliable offshoring company is the chance for many of them to go home. DataArt, with its careful employment policy, and best employer of the year acknowledgement by the gathering of the Fort-Ross consortium, (the largest Russian software development companies association) is a good opportunity for qualified programmers to get interesting and well paid jobs at home.

The first summit of DataArt's Partner program was held in New York. Partners from 13 regions of the United States, representing 8 different industries, took part in this event. As a company specializing in custom software development services for small and medium business, DataArt finds Partner Networking to be one of the most important parts of business development.

"According to the "DataArt customer base source" research," says DataArt's President Eugene Goland, "59% of DataArt's clients for the first three quarters of 2004 were brought in through references from partners. DataArt has worked hard to establish client trust and satisfaction. Due to this continued focus, the company has developed a network of 161 partners representing 19 American states in four years. Networking is an important tool and the DataArt Partner program is one way of using this tool. I'm sure that DataArt can find effective ways of assisting every partner. I'm glad that we all gathered together. I hope the Partners' meeting will become another DataArt tradition."

During the summit, a workshop concerning the strengths and services of DataArt was held. A list of services suggested by the partners was submitted, and expert consultations on technology, web site optimization, 24x7 support service possibilities and design studio were given. The site specially developed for the partners for marketing and literature materials was also demonstrated. The summit concluded with a caviar and champagne party in the center of New York City.
