October 26, 2004A project on web-site development and design for Survival Guide Media has been launched by DataArt. The Short List is a leading provider of neighborhood and lifestyle information for New York City, providing content solutions for both institutional and consumer end-users.
"There were a variety of factors that led us to choose DataArt over other potential developers. First was the company's impressive client base. Second was the team of highly qualified software developers. And finally, it was the project management that would allow us to actually benefit from the cost savings that outsourcing provides, rather than suffer from a inflated TCO down the road," said Marc Kirschner, The Short List Publisher and Founder.
DataArt's CFO attends roundtable with NASDAQ
October 25, 2004DataArt's CFO, Svetlana Janson, recently attended a roundtable held by the St. Petersburg Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia and the Center for Business Ethics and Corporate Governance. At the meeting was the newly appointed director of NASDAQ operations in Russia and CIS, Paulina McGroarty. Svetlana wanted to find out more about the prospects of businesses going public and also about NASDAQ plans to establish long-term relations with Russia.
"Due to Russia's strong and steady growth over the past few years, the healthy fiscal situation due to high oil prices, and the government's stated support for reform in many sectors of the economy, NASDAQ officials believe that the time is approaching for companies to think about expanding operations and incurring debt," roundtable founders said.
The roundtable was inspired by NASDAQ starting its expansion into Russia and showing an interest for Russian companies to become public.
DataArt's interest in such a roundtable is attributed to one of our areas of core competence, financial expertise. Having significant experience working in the hedge fund and asset management industry, DataArt is interested in similar possibilities.

Race day for DataArt
October 19, 2004Last weekend, at St. Petersburg's beautiful Krestovskiy Island, the annual "Nevsky ring" contest was held. Every professional and amateur speed lover and motor-car enthusiast showed up to show off their skills. (The only thing needed to participate in this race is a car!)
DataArt' Quality Assurance Engineer Svetlana Gudkova took part in the contest last Sunday. She was the only DataArter among the participants, as the car of the other potential company racer unfortunately broke down that same day. Nevertheless, in spite of the cold autumn day, several persons came to show their support for which Svetlana greatly appreciated.
In the end, Svetlana placed 22nd out of 60 participants, of which only four were female motorists. We salute Sveta for her impressive result!
