The two day Hedge Fund Business Operations Forum brought together asset managers, advisors and providers for the alternative investment industry. A wide array of issues including regulatory and compliance requirements, operation risks, and technology systems were discussed.

DataArt presented its custom application development capabilities for asset managers.
The dynamic nature of many Hedge Funds creates the requirement for customized software for many functions such as research, trading, investor relationships, analytics and others. No single solution "does it all" and off-the-shelf products are often hampered by integration, personnel pressure and usability issues.
Developing custom systems requires either a solid internal team or contracting out to a reliable vendor. Both options are far from easy. It is often very difficult to find and attract quality IT personnel. And with external contractors, how does one ensure trust, clear communications and a cultural fit with the vendor?
DataArt's mission is to provide dynamic and knowledgeable teams for each
specific client and task. Technology has a great potential to drive the Hedge Fund industry, and we have the right combination of brainpower and experience to help our clients leverage it.

"The industry of software development has now turned into a complex ecosystem where it is difficult to survive if players possess a narrow frame of reference. Now more and more alliances appear in the market. We have partners too. Ours are generally among Russian companies. In particular, Fors SPb and Octet,"
Michael Zavilejsky, head of DataArt's St. Petersburg office
