Eugene Goland (President)
Eugene Goland is a President of DataArt, a leading provider of high-end software outsourcing services for SMEs, specializing in enterprise application development, system integration and business automation tools, with industry-specific software expertise in financial, telecom and media sectors.
Goland is a recognized leader in custom software development for mission critical and knowledge intensive systems, with more than 20 years of experience in the field. He recognized the potential of the offshore software market in 1997 and focused the company's strategy on assembling a world-class technical team. DataArt has been consistently recognized by the industry watchdogs as one of the top outsourcing providers worldwide.
Goland has managed several successful ventures throughout his career, for which he’s raised over $10M. One of the best known companies he co-founded is Mail.ru, the largest Web-portal in Eastern Europe with 50+ million users, which was recently sold to a private equity firm.
As a recognized expert in IT outsourcing, for both buy-side and sell-side, he heads the Executive Board of the Offshore Outsourcing Best Practices association, a vendor- independent professional community dedicated to increasing the efficiency of the outsourcing industry. He is a Chairman of the SME Global Sourcing chapter at the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals, headed by Michael Corbett. Goland serves on the advisory board of the Billion Minds Foundation where he is a member of its Global Knowledge Leadership Council. He is a frequent speaker at international and national industry events on the subject of global sourcing, offshore vendor selection and IT management.
Goland received a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from NYU and an Executive MBA from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.
