The client is a U.S.-based provider of cloud-based business management and marketing solutions to service businesses around the world. Their Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform enables businesses to manage operations while promoting services and bringing in customers through new marketing channels, including social commerce, group buying, mobile and local advertising. 

Business Challenge

The client’s idea was to build an online booking, point of sale, and business management platform to provide new booking opportunities to existing customers, acquire new customers and increase overall profitability. To achieve this goal, they chose DataArt as their technology consulting and solution design partner, thus extending their own development resources.


In partnership with the client, DataArt created a platform that includes mobile and online booking, CRM, hosted point-of-sale, mobile payment processing, employee, services, and inventory management and integrated digital marketing. Moreover, the final product has rich functionality:

  • Social media integration with Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare
  • Daily deal, group buying and management of other discount programs
  • Reporting in Excel, HTML, PDF and XML formats

In addition, DataArt created a marketing platform, spa booking software, Facebook applications as well as a mobile project for iOS/Android and Web versions of these. That enables the client to offer the functionality of a rich and highly competitive product.


The applications built by DataArt and the client’s augmented team have helped the client gain new customers and increase revenue. The booking platform is now used by more than 3,000 businesses in 66 countries – from multi-national enterprises to single location spas, fitness centers, salons, medical practices and local service businesses. More than 900,000 transactions are processed each month on the client’s platform, averaging US$1.983 million in value per day.
